Illustration class final project. A Broadway show window poster, 14x22 inches. My choice was Equus by Peter Shaffer. Lots of posters for this play had horses or horse heads, which I didn’t want, so I pushed for mental issues of the main characters intertwined with his sexual affection to horses. Done with prismacolor pencils, prismacolor markers and black ink pen.
My typography class final project. The assignment was to find a typeface and research the date of its release, then find the noticeable event of the same year, which happened to be the docking of Apollo and Soyuz space modules on Earth’s orbit. After the research I had to make an 11x17 poster incorporating both the typeface and the event, but using that typeface only to build a composition. So the typeface was ITC Bauhaus Std a 1975 redesign of an old Bauhaus typeface. The red shape behind the words in the front is an outline of connected modules like it was often depicted on postal stamps of that time.
These are digital copies of the pages from my Typography class project which was a creation of abecedary. I made a full alphabet, drew illustrations in Illustrator, worked on layout in Indesign using Eurostile typeface and finally printed everything on glossy 100 pound paper and crafted a hardcover 5.25x11 in book.
